Financial Concepts (Basic and Advanced) in 2023 – Entrepreneurship Facilitator Services – Hepburn

If you answered “YES” to the above questions, then this three-hour workshop is for you.
We are offering two interactive workshop sessions on Thursday 8 June 2023 – Basic and Advanced concepts. To assist us in determining which session is best for you, please complete this short diagnostic survey found here. You must complete this diagnostic survey to confirm your spot.
Once we receive your completed form, we will come back to you with your recommended session. The concepts that we will cover in each session are summarised below (but not limited to).
Morning session (9am to 12noon) – Basic Concepts
- The basics of accounting (Assets equals Liabilities + Owners Equity)
- Cash and Accrual accounting
- Setting up your business in Xero (understanding charts of accounts and postings of transactions)
- Understanding financial statements (Profit and Loss, Cashflow and Balance Sheet)
- Understanding bank reconciliations
- Managing cash flows
- GST reporting
- Developing a budget
Afternoon session (1pm to 4pm) – Advanced Concepts
- Recap on the basics
- Interpreting financial statements
- Pricing models
- Investment decisions
- Key financial ratios
Both sessions will use Xero as the accounting software so that the learning is practical and interactive. You will be required to bring a laptop to the session in order to work through the exercises. We will provide you with a temporary Xero account and access to a dummy company for this workshop.
